Louis Stewart Obituary

Mr. Louis M. Stewart, of 2912 Tinsberry Drive, Colonial Heights, Va., entered into eternal peace on Friday, April 15, 2011.

He was born Aug. 11, 1949. He was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva M. Stewart and Louis W. Stewart.

Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Linda A. Stewart, and two adoring children, Nicole R. Stewart and Tiffany T. Stewart, all of Colonial Heights, Va.; one granddaughter, Destiny Hines of Richmond, Va.; one brother, Kenneth W. Stewart (Aileen) of Chesterfield, Va.; one aunt, Dorothy Cunningham (John Randolph Nursing Home); three brothers-in-law, Rudolph F. Cooper Jr. (Marion) of Petersburg, Va., Algernon Cooper (Connie) of Richmond, Va., and Dwayne Cooper of Varina, Va. ; five sisters-in-law, Marjorie P. Peterson (William) of Petersburg, Va., Debra D. Bilal (Dawud) of Colonial Heights, Va., Reneé West Wimberley of Petersburg, Va., Beonca L. Taylor (Anthony) of Fort Lee, Va., and Patricia Lewis (Earl) of Colonial Heights, Va.; five special friends, Debra Spriggs, Charles Brooks, Arthur Edwards, Joseph Johnson and Eulis Beasley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Louis graduated from Carver High School in 1967 and attended John Tyler Community College. He also served in the Vietnam War. Louis retired from Philip Morris USA after 30 years of service.

Louis enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing cards. He was a family-oriented man and everyone that he encountered, he blessed with his quiet but loving demeanor.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 418 Halifax St., Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs, pastor, eulogist. The interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at 2912 Tinsberry Drive, Colonial Heights, Va., and may be contacted by calling 804-520-4040.
