When my family returned to the states from the Panama Canal the first band I played with on saxophone was "Brother Rap and the Professionals" featuring Willie on guitar. It was a lot a fun. My condolences to the family and many friends!

Willie was one of members of The Fire Band from 70's with us. We remember him as one of the best guitar players we had ever seen. He will be missed for so much more, he was a good man and friend. GOD bless the whole Griffin family. Our prayers are with you, Malcolm and Marvin Bolling and The Fire Band Family.

A Reminiscence
YES, thou art gone! and never more
Thy sunny smile shall gladden me;
But I may pass the old church door,
And pace the floor that covers thee.
May stand upon the cold, damp stone,
And think that, frozen, lies below
The lightest heart that I have known,
The kindest I shall ever know.
Yet, though I cannot see thee more,
'Tis still a comfort to have seen;
And though thy transient life is o'er,
'Tis sweet to think that thou hast been;
To think a soul so near divine,
Within a form so angel fair,
United to a heart like thine,
Has gladdened once our humble sphere.
