James Bradshaw Obituary

Mr. James Anderson Bradshaw, of 21418 Green Acres Lane, McKenney, Va., departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at the Southside Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 10, 1943, to the late Stanley Anderson Bradshaw and the late Addie Foster Bradshaw. He was born second of 15 children, and was a life-long native of in Dinwiddie County, Va. James was preceded in death by one sisternd three brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Bradshaw of McKenney; four sisters, Lillie S. Bradshaw of Baltimore, Bertie B. Carrington of Petersburg, Sadie Goodson of Amelia County, Ella Stith of Petersburg; five brothers, Stanley Bradshaw of Richmond, Charles Bradshaw of Chesterfield, John Bradshaw of Petersburg, Willie Bradshaw and David Bradshaw (Diana) of Petersburg; five stepsons, Darrin Robinson of San Antonio, Brian Harper of McKenney, Jamel Harper (Majorie), Marcus Harper, Marco Harper, all of Richmond; two stepdaughters, one devoted, Shelby Harper of McKenney, and Jennifer Harper of Petersburg; three sisters-in-law, Alma Robinson of DeWitt, Viola Dawkins and Carrie White, both of Richmond; four brothers-in-law, Sherman Robinson, James White of McKenney, James Robinson and John Robinson (Gail), all of Petersburg; nine stepgrandchildren, two devoted, Shakalan and Shakala Trisvan; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2010, at the McKenney Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, with the Rev. A.L. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Jackson Family Cemetery, Ford, Va. Public viewing will be held today at the funeral home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph M. Johnson & Son Funeral Home, 11107 Doyle Blvd.
