Elize Claud Obituary
A native of Southampton County, Va., he was the son of the late Perry and Mandy Turner Claud, born Feb. 29, 1936. He attended the Southampton County Schools and joined the Shiloh Baptist Church, Boykins, Va., at an early age.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, June Claud and Percy (Perk) Claud; and a sister, Virgie Lena Rawlings.
He is survived by four sisters, Lina Tann of Mt. Clair, N.J., Rachel Wright of Fredrick, Md., Mandy Stephenson of Petersburg, Va., and Blanche Tann of South Orange, N.J.; a devoted cousin, Robert Peete; a devoted friend, Julia Holmes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 30188 Shiloh Road, Boykins, Va.; the Rev. Curtis Mitchell, pastor, and the Rev. John Faison, eulogist. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
Family and friends may view Mr. Claud from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Pearson Funeral Home, 556 Halifax St., Emporia, Va.
