Robert Harris Obituary
He was born March 12, 1952, in Petersburg, Va., to the late Henry Wilson Harris and Elizabeth Banks Harris. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and one sister. He attended Giles B. Cooke School, Henry Williams and Peabody High School. He was employed for the city and worked in the bakery and also did construction work. He enjoyed dancing, cleaning and helping other people.
He is survived by his three sons, Ronald Stevens, James Knight and Darrell Dennis, all of Petersburg, Va.; one daughter, Richelle Dennis of Petersburg, Va.; seven sisters, Mona L. Forbes (Larry), Claramon Mattox (George), Yvonne Thompson, Dorothy Sterling, Shirley Yancy (George), Venus Moore (Donald) and Sylvia Hambnck; a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws, among them devoted nephew, Ronald Thompson, and devoted friend, Tony Robertson.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at The Lord's Church, Ettrick, Va., with the Rev. Howard Moses Jr. officiating. Relatives and friends will assemble at the residence at 2 p.m.
The remains rest at Tucker's Funeral Home. Services under the direction of Tucker's Funeral Home, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg. A.A. Tucker, funeral director.
