Richard Heartwell Obituary
He is survived by two sons, Richard Phillip Heartwell Jr. and his wife, Susan, and Thomas Meade Heartwell of Colonial Heights; a daughter, Elizabeth Heartwell Belcher and husband, Jim, of Chester; four grandchildren, Matthew Phillip Heartwell, Stephen Nicholas Belcher, Timothy Meade Heartwell, and James Corbin Belcher; a sister, Elizabeth Heartwell Parker of New Hampshire; numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Concord Presbyterian Church, Rawlings, Va., with the Rev. Glenda Hollingshead officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday (tonight) at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, 211 Lynchburg Ave., Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.

Phil, Beth and Tommy,

Dear Beth,
Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. It is very hard to lose a loved one during the Christmas season. However, I trust that your precious memories and God's love will sustain you during these difficult days. Your Dad is with your Mom and they will always live in your heart.
