Rita Ferguson Obituary
She was born in Reichenbach, Germany, and was the daughter of the late Karl Peter and Anna Clemens Nicklas. Mrs. Ferguson was the proprietor of Ferguson Daycare in Colonial Heights, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Chester.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles G. Ferguson; one son, C. Thomas Ferguson and wife, Rachel E. Ferguson, of Colonial Heights; a daughter, Rita Ann Laske and husband, Dr. Douglas Laske, of Bala Cynwyd, Pa.; five grandchildren, Coty Ferguson, Lindsey Garcia, Jessica, Jennifer and Sarah Laske; one great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Garcia; three sisters, Gretel Conn of Chester, Anke Hawener and Karin Nicklas, both of Germany.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, in the Grace Lutheran Church, 13028 Harrowgate Road, Chester, VA 23831, with Pastor Richard J. Finck officiating.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.

I remember Mrs Ferguson from way "back in the day" when Tom and Rita and I were schoolmates. Remembering her sharp wit still brings a smile to my face!! She will be missed...love and condolences to your family!!

Words cannot say how sad we are of Rita's passing. She was a lovely lady and good neighbor. My granddaughter Emily loved her like a grandmother. Keep her memories close to your heart and eventually the tears will turn to smiles when you think of her. Our prayers are with you. Delilah and Patrick Smith
