James Harrell Obituary
He was born May 13, 1921 in Sussex County, Va., to the late Olin Tilton Harrell and Effie Lura Major Harrell Wallace and was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Mae Fitts Harrell; sister, Thelma Welch; brothers, Major Harrell, Howard Harrell, Olin Harrell Jr., and Frank Harrell.
Mr. Harrell was a retired senior chief petty officer and a World War II United States Navy Veteran.
He is survived by son, E. Wayne Harrell and wife Marie of Unionville, Va.; daughter, Anita H. Bourlier and husband Tommy of Prince George, Va.; grandchildren, Shannon H. Bousselaire and husband Mike of Glen Allen, Va., Wendi H. Hughes and husband Nathan of Mechanicsville, Va., Jonathan P. Bourlier and wife Amber of Appomattox, Va.; great-grandchildren, Jason Bousselaire, Grace Bousselaire, Dylan Hughes, Hannah Hughes and Carter Hughes; sisters, Dorothy McDowell, Beatrice Padgett, Loretta Lucy and Elizabeth Peck; brothers, Alvin and Edward Harrell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, in the Petersburg Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory 3935 S. Crater Road, 23803, with the Rev. Ron Hopkins officiating. Interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Va. The family will receive friends Monday Sept. 27, 2010, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
