CORBY POWELL Obituary
He was born December 15, 1993, to Takesha L. "Tatabug" Powell and Demond Blakes. Corby attended school in Petersburg and Matoaca, Va. He worked several jobs, his last employer was Walmart.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Leona "Bebe" Reeves; cousin, George "Neco" Reeves; and his best friend, Ka'Waun "Dro" Quarles.
Corby leaves to cherish his precious memories, one son, Corby D. Powell, Jr.; his parents, Takesha Jones (Robert); father, Demond "Poo" Blakes; as well as daddy, Reheem Lyons; two sisters, Jarshearria Gordon and Keasia Gordon; one brother, James Gordon, Jr.; grandmother, Gail Y. Powell and Nazerene Jones; great-grandmother, Delois R. Ward; one very devoted uncle, Leroy Powell, Jr.; grandfather, Leroy Powell, Sr. and Fred Gates; devoted cousin, Antonio Reeve (Jasmine); one devoted man in his life, Uncle Jamel Lyons; devoted friends, Alayjah Simpson, Sherita Stewart, Jasmine Mason and Trey; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends among them Derazz White.
Services for Mr. Corby D. Powell will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, Va., the Rev. Edward L. Fox, eulogist. Interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
Wake service from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2016, at the funeral establishment.
The family will receive friends at 21200 Fox Maple Court, Petersburg and may be contacted by calling (804) 255-0075 or (804) 451-9582.

I would like to extend my prayers and condolences to the family. I worked with Corby when he attended Va Randolph High School. Corby was very laid back and sweet. He will be missed.
