DESHAWN R. SHAW

Mr. Deshawn R. Shaw, 22, affectionately known as "D," of 307 Brookedge Drive, Colonial Heights, Va., departed this life suddenly on Sunday, February 28, 2016. Deshawn was born on October 17, 1993, to Regina P. Shaw and Jeremiah Parker.

He graduated from Colonial Heights High School, Class of 2012. Deshawn was employed at Tindall Corporation, Dinwiddie, Va. He attended Greater Kingdom Business Ministry, Hopewell, Va., under the leadership of Bishop Stephanie White and Pastor Rodney White.

Deshawn was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Virginia Shaw and Douglas Shaw; and his paternal grandfather, Lee Parker.

Left to cherish the memories of his daughter, Jimena Love Shaw of Colonial Heights, Va.; mother, Regina P. Shaw (Quennel Smith) of Colonial Heights, Va.; father, Jeremiah Parker (Keisha) of Willow Springs, N.C.; his girlfriend, Jazmine Jones of Colonial Heights, Va.; sisters, Niyonna Shaw of Colonial Heights, Va., Katera Harris of Wilmington, DE, and Jasmane Peele of Jackson, N.C.; brothers, Dominc Shaw (Dechia Harris), Dontaivia Shaw (Jocelyn Jones), Reakwon Shaw and Elijah Shaw, all of Colonial Heights, Va., Da'Quan Shaw of Portsmouth, Va., and Erin Shaw of Garysburg, N.C.; paternal grandmother, Shirley Robinson (Frankie) of Conway, N.C.; paternal great-grandmother, Earlie Mae Flythe of Conway, N.C.; special aunt, Sharvon Parker of Raleigh, N.C.; special uncles, Charles Rogers, Reggie Shaw and Ronnie Shaw, all of Portsmouth, Va., and Lee Parker of Charlotte, N.C.; and a host of aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. Deshawn R. Shaw will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 418 Halifax Street, Petersburg, Va., Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs, Sr., pastor, and Bishop Stephanie White, eulogist, and Pastor Ronald Lowery, officiating. Interment to follow at Lincoln Cemetery, Portsmouth, Va.

Wake from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016, at the funeral establishment.
