Albina Valentine Obituary
Mrs. Valentine was a native of Petersburg, Va. She was born on June 10, 1922, to the late Marie H. and William Edmonds. Her sisters, Louise E. Hailes, Mildred E. Wynn and Carrie E. Birriel preceded her in death. She was married to the late George H. Valentine.
They were surrogate parents to the late Benjamin Hailes Jr. and Constance M. Brown.
Mrs. Valentine leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted and loving niece and nephew, Marie B. and Carl D. Edwards Sr. of Fredericksburg, Va.; one uncle, Ernest Hardy of Petersburg, Va.; one sister-in-law, Margaret Goodwyn (Robert) of Baltimore, Md., and one brother-in-law, William A. Valentine Sr. of Petersburg, Va. Also left to cherish her memory are a host of loving family members, niece, Louise L. Johnson (Ezekiel) of Hampton, Va.; nephews, Pablo Birriel (Maydean) of Newport News, Va., Frank G. Wynn of Fredericksburg, Va., Darrell Wynn of Petersburg, Va.; surrogate grandchildren, Vera Harwell (Ronald) of Ettrick, Va., Luther Brown III (Tabatha) of Hopewell, Va., Debra Jones (Ronea) of Ettrick, Va., Erick R. Brown (Chanta), Cassandra R. Henderson (Bobby), Carlos R. Brown, Kim Hailes and Benita Williams, all of Petersburg, Va., and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Hardy, Edmonds, Edwards, Mattox, Hailes, Valentine, and Goodwyn families. Also left to cherish her memory are special friends and staff at the Canterbury House in Temple Hill, Md.
A funeral service will be held 12 noon, Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at the chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Dr. Andrew J. White Sr., pastor of Zion Baptist Church, officiating. Interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
The family will assemble 11 a.m. at 3407 Dupuy Road, Ettrick, Va., the day of the services.

You Will be blessed for the wonderful job you have done with Aunt Bina. She was a great woman and aunt to all of us and we are going to miss her. She was loved by everyone that know her. God was just ready for her to go to her new home with him and now we know she is now with uncle george in a better place.

You did a wonderful job all the way to the end taking care of Aunt Bina. She fought a good fight, she ran her race and she has finished her course. Now God has her safely in His care. Be blessed and know what He is God and may He comfort you during this time.
She left us with great memories to reflect on. She was truly a wonderful Aunt. She will be sorely missed!
