Remembering the life of you, you were everything to me the one I know never judged but always cared no matter what the situation. You were the one who didn´t have a lot of money but you were a way maker for your family and friends. You were the one who would pray for a person sent to destroy you. You were the one who taught your children and grandchildren to always have faith in god because he is the way, truth, and the light and through him so things are possible. Your life was so precious and if I could´ve traded places with you I would´ve just so more people would´ve been blessed to experience a blessing. One of the best blessing I ever received was having you as a grandfather and mentor over my life. When that song said somebody prayed for me I know it was you in spite of and I´ll love you today, tomorrow, and the rest of my if until we meet again. here to celebrating the life of a legend The Reverend Andrew Jones 6/29/1922~9/11/2010 #MyMainMan #LongLiveTheRev

Ms Lorraine, Shirley Ann, Soke and family, may God bless you all in this time of sorrow. Imani say she remembers when she and her mother (Marvette) use to come to the house and spend the night and what a good time she use to have. She was young at the time but she remembers you all. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

My heart was saddened when I heard the news that Rev Andrew Jones had passed. However, I rejoice now along with the family because I know Rev Jones is with Our Heavenly Father singing and shouting as he did while he was with us on earth. Rev Andrew Jones will be missed by me as well as others. I loved Rev Jones's spirit. He was saved and the same where ever he went. May God continue to bless and comfort the family knowing that your Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and other relatives is with His Heavenly Father. To the Family of the Late Rev. Andrew Jones,

Rev. Jones was a blessing to my soul the first time I witnessed him in the pulpit severl years ago at Union Baptist Church. To see this man so energetic and on fire for the Lord was like an unstopable blazing fire and so amazing...
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you and may God continue to keep you and bless you.

September 15, 2010

To the Jones family,
There was no other and will be none quite like the Rev. Andrew Jones. This preacher, pastor, and man of God will always be remembered as one full of the Holy Ghost and not ashamed to speak of the goodness of God. I've witnessed him jump from the pulpit to the floor fired up for the Lord. I can only imagine his spirit in Heaven... the angels are rejoicing and he is praising, praising, and praising! Thanks for sharing your husband and father so unselfishly with the entire community.

I would like to extend heartfelt sympathy on the "going home" of Rev. Jones. He was sincerely a blessing to the Body of Christ and will be missed. I would call him "Shouting John" cause he could shout and make you shout even when you did'nt feel like it. May God continue to bless and keep you all.

There are just no words right now to express how we feel. Even though we can only imagine how sad the family feel, but it is with no doubt about Rev. Jones jumping and rejoicing to be in heaven. We know he is thinking about his Lorraine and watching over her. Miss him but know in your hearts he is happy. We love you. God will take care of you, and help to mend your broken hearts. Mrs. Lorraine and Jones family: There aren't enough words in the entire dictionary to discribe such a man as Rev. Andrew Jones!! He was full of love, life and most of all the Holy Spirit!! He displayed such a love of God whereever he went!! There's never been such a peacemaker as himself!! He was real, sincere, and honest.I will always remember the revivals that we shared when he would be the first one to stand and sing a song and pray a prayer or testify as to how good God is!! I can see him rubbing that head and walking through the church, giving God praise!! He has certainly left a legacy for us to follow in this Christian race!! Lebanon Baptist church will have a void for quite a while!! Bless you all and please know from one Jones family to another that we love you and we will really miss "Pop"!!!

To Mrs. Lorraine, Children, Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and the entire Jones Family:

On behalf of the Pettaway family we send you our sincere condolences. What an awesome, loving, kind, great man of God. He never treated anyone like a stranger but was so kind to everyone at all times. We were saddened to hear of the loss of this dear Great Man of God. He taught all of us a great lesson on how to be all you could be while you yet live and he was that way always. He LOVED the LORD and showed it in every way. We feel like he was our dad in the absence of our father (C. C. Pettaway) who was one of his best friends. We will surely miss his kindness and caring ways. We all can learn a great lesson from this great man of God. He showed his love for the Lord always. Know that we are here and praying for you all.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

He was my Pastor at First Baptist Church when I live in Claremont, VA. We spent many Sundays together, after church, at my Granddaddy's house. I saw him recently at First Baptist in Clarement and I asked "How are you? Taking one Day at a time?" He replied, "Honey, I'm taking one minute at a time". It filled my heart with laughter and I shall never forget his joyful presence.

Mrs. Jones and family, may you find comfort in knowing he is undoubtedly with the LORD.
