On Monday, July 2, 2018, God called home Mrs. Angerina Hailes one of his angels to be with him. "Ann" as she was affectionately called was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and James Gregory; biological father, William "Red Cherry" Carson; grandson, Robert Walker, Jr.; sisters, Eloise Gregory and Yvonne Gregory; brothers, James Gregory, John Gregory; mother and father-in-law, Oconee and Herbert Hailes; brother-in-law, Herbert Hailes, Jr.; son-in-law, Antonio Goode; and nephew, Steven "Hot Dog" Gregory.

Ann was baptized at an early age at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. She attended Petersburg Public Schools. Ann was a faithful member of God's Mission of Faith Church, under the pastoralship of Pastor Virginia Graham. She serve in any capacity that she was need in to include the ushers ministry, women's ministry and the choir. Ann enjoyed singing; she had a heavenly voice like the angels that enlighten many hearts. She had a helping spirit and would help anyone that was in need.

She was diligent employee at Amazon that took pride in her job before her declining health. Ann was the heart and soul of the Gregory Family. She would have an annual family reunion so that the family could spend time together getting to know one another. She spent countless hours preparing food for the entire family during the holidays even when her health was not up to par. She also loved to spread the word of God and His greatness. Her testimony was an example of what God can make happen for a believer.

Ann leaves to cherish, her husband, Elton Hailes; seven daughter, Angela Walker (Robert), Wanda McCrae (Steve), Thomasina Carpenter, Connie Gregory, Davina Goode, Ryan Jackson and Tiffany Jackson; one son, David Gregory; twenty-six grandchildren, two she raised, Davina Gregory and Corionna Goode; thirty-four great grandchildren, one she raised Davion Paul; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Arvitta Gregory Battle Sydney; nieces, Tonda Gregory, Tonda Gregory Allen, Bonnie Lee, Pamela Gregory, Monique Gregory, and Lisa Watson; nephews, Bernard Gregory, Sr., James Gregory, Dominic Gregory, John Gregory, Patrick Gregory, Richard Randolph, Lamont Watson and Gregory Battle; devoted friends, Cathy C. Lassiter and Elaine Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 800 Augusta Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Dr. Wesley K. McLaughlin, Pastor and Pastor Virginia Graham, eulogist. Interment will be held at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
