God in his infinite wisdom called our loved one, Angie, from labor to reward.

Ms. Angernette Juanita Jones, 56, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg.

She was born Aug. 24, 1957, in Petersburg to the late Mildred Adkins Jones Hamlin and the late William Jones. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Jones.

Angie was a graduate of Petersburg High School, class of 1976 and she attended Norfolk State and Virginia State University. After school, she relocated to Richmond and began working at St. Mary's Hospital as a unit secretary, at the time that her health declined, she retired as a senior registrar in admitting. She was very dedicated to her job and co-workers. Angie loved working at St. Mary's for over 25 years. She also enjoyed spending time with her family very much, often talking about memories of her childhood.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one sister, Debbie Jones of Richmond; two brothers, William Adkins of Richmond, and Anthony Jones of Pennsylvania; two very devoted aunts, Delores Garrison and Margie Myrick, both of Petersburg; two uncles, Willie Adkins (Marian) and Richard Adkins (Sonja), both of Petersburg; six nieces, Rikea Adkins of San Diego, Calif., Ebony Jones, Shanika Anderson and Tyrina Scott, all of Richmond, Jasmine Jones of Allentown, Pa., and Ciara Stewart of Hopewell; two nephews, Anthony C. Jones of Allentown, Pa., and Tyrone Jones of Richmond; a devoted cousin, Sharon Pollard; and friends, Linda Allen and Adrienne Adkins; and a host of nieces nephews; cousins; and friends.

Services for Ms. Angernette J. Jones will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Refuge Temple Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, 1890 Boydton Plank Road, Petersburg, Elder David Hill, eulogist, and Deacon Peter Radcliff officiating. Interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
