Anne B. McDaniel

Anne Bass McDaniel, 78, of Chester, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Johnston-Willis Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Howard A. and Ida Mae Bass, and the widow of Wilder Floyd McDaniel.

Mrs. McDaniel was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church, and the former administrator of Colonial Heights Health Care Center.

She is survived by three children, Raymond Walker Davis Jr. and wife, Dr. Sarah Hadden of Charlottesville, Don B. Davis and wife, Cynthia Lynn of Newport News, and Zotelia Mae Elliott and husband, Ray of Chester; two stepchildren, Adele McDaniel Glensky and husband, James, of Fort Smith, Ark., and Thomas W. McDaniel and wife, Lore of Lynchburg; 13 grandchildren, Lena Marie Davis, Julia Anne Davis, Ivy Alexandra Jarrenton, Ryan Arthur Ross Jarrenton, Graham Reeves Davis, Victoria Leigh Davis, Coleman Wynter McAdoo, Daniel Raymond Davis Elliott, Kevin Howard Bass Elliott, Bradford McDaniel, Ashley McDaniel, Allyson Mays, and Lauren McNutt; seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Rev. Dr. Alexis Fathbruckner officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery, 18100 Genito Road, Moseley, VA 23120.
