Annie Cobb Obituary

Our devoted loved one, Ms. Annie Joyce Cobb, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at Ashland Convalescent Center, Ashland, Va.

Annie was born July 24, 1952, to the late Fannie Mae Carson in North Carolina. She was a native of Petersburg before moving to New York, where she lived for many years before returning home to Petersburg. She was affectionately known as Boss Annie.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Carson; grandmother, Lenora Smith; a son, Paul Roger Seward; a nephew, Antoina Keene, all of Petersburg.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Renee Cobb of Petersburg, Va.; one son, Raymond Cobb of New York; one devoted sister, Ms. Ruby Keene of Petersburg, Va.; four brothers, Royal Cobb, Ernest Cobb (Dale), Curtis Cobb and Clifton Cobb, all of Petersburg, Va.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by her Ashland Convalescent family and friencs.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Tucker's Funeral Home with the Rev. Merle Keene officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Minnis Memorial Cemetery, Chester. Relatives and friends will assemble at the home of Earline Cobb, 15 N. Dunlop St., Petersburg, at 2 p.m., and may be contacted at (804) 732-5487 or Patricia Booker at (804) 733-5430. Family and friends will receive friends at Tucker's Funeral Home from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday. The repast will be held at 2022 Walton St., Petersburg, Va., telephone (804) 861-3976.

To the best aunt a girl could have. I enjoied the days with my aunt in the hosipital laughing and acting up. She always kept a good spirit and she never appeared to be down.
