Mr. Antonio Lamar Bland "Tony," of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Ettrick, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Mount Carmel West Hospital, in Columbus, Ohio.

Antonio was born in Ettrick, Va., on March 29, 1964, to Catherine Hayes Bland and the late Morris F. Bland Sr.
He was employed by J.B. Hunt Trucking Company until his illness. Antonio was also a volunteer fireman with the Ford Fire Department in Ford, Va.
Antonio joined Union Baptist Church in Church Road, Va., at an early age. He later moved his membership to Marmora Baptist in Church Road. He was presently attending Meredith Temple Church of God and Christ in Columbus, Ohio.
Antonio's hobbies were fishing and bowling.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Morris F. Bland Sr.; and his brother, Morris F. Bland Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 16 years, Noel Bland; three children, Elijah L. Bland, Alphonzo Marsh, and Mariah Marsh, all of Columbus, Ohio; mother, Catherine Hayes Bland of Ettrick; two brothers, Mark Bland of Ettrick and Sidney Bland of Petersburg; one sister, Margaret B. Simmons of Petersburg; four grandchildren, Kamuari Jones, Michah Jones, Jaidin Jones and Eunnetta Marsh of Columbus; mother-in-law, Patrice G. Wallace; father-in-law, William Mullen; grandmother-in-law, Minister Gracie Gibbs of Washington DC; brothers-in-law, Robert Wallace (Aeisha) of Dinwiddie and Wallace Bostock (Evelyn) of Atlanta, Ga.; godchildren, Brittany Stevenson, James Jenkins, Jeremyha Stevenson and Jayonna Jones; aunts, LeMoyne B. Ward, Louise W. Bland, Josephine G. Bland, Donita G. Wooten and Donnett G. Vent; uncles, Joseph Gibbs, William Freeman and Dallas Gibbs; great-aunt, Bertha Hayes of Mannboro; hosts of nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends among them, Brad Logan, John Crawley, Harvey Parham, Eric Parham and Michael Parham.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at the chapel of William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home, Petersburg. The Rev. Todd Drayton will officiate. Interment will follow in the Bland Family Cemetery, Sutherland.
A memorial service will also be later held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at the Meredith Temple Church of God and Christ, 1158 Mount Vernon Ave., Columbus, Ohio. William A. Meredith Sr. will officiate.
