Aubrey Douglas Obituary

Mr. Aubrey Franklin Douglas, 94, of Bracey, Va., died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009. He was a retired contractor.

Mr. Douglas is survived by his wife of seventy-three years, Mary Lee Douglas; a daughter Patricia Sue Sharpe of Richmond; two sons, Aubrey Franklin Douglas Jr. of Raleigh, and Ernest Lee Douglas of Richmond; five grandchildren, Jason Scott Douglas, Amy Lyn Douglas, Earl Douglas, Brian Redmond and David Sharpe; four great-grandchildren and special friends, Donna and George Rozinskie, and Jack Batton.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in River Ridge Chapel, Bracey with interment at 3 p.m. in Southlawn Memorial Park in Prince George County.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home in South Hill, Va. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions to the Hazelwood House Adult Daycare Center, 1105 West Danville St., South Hill, VA 23970 or Mecklenburg House, 8535 US Rt. 1, South Hill, VA 23970. Aubrey Franklin Douglas was my father-in-law, friend, and hunting buddy. We had many wonderful times together. I loved that guy and it makes me proud to think that he kind of a liked me too. He is missed.
