BERNARD CHARLES LEWIS Obituary
Bernard Charles Lewis, 60, of Manhattan, N.Y. peacefully departed this life on September 2, 2018. He was born September 3, 1957, to the late Nellie Lewis and Irvin Jennings of Manhattan, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Annie Berry "Bigma;" aunts, Rose Bowleg "Pussom" of Brooklyn, NY, Louise Scott "Peanut," Alice Briggs "Auntie Bernice;" and an uncle, Mathew Briggs "Uncle Briggsy," both of Wilmington, DE; nephews, Daquaine Hinton, Corey and Che Lewis of Petersburg, VA.

Affectionately known as "Bee Bee" by family and friends, he graduated from PHS class of 1975. After a short time in the military, he followed his heart back home to New York City. Bee Bee worked at Sears and Robucks as an appliance technician. He later used his special talents, entrepreneurial and artistic skills and became a vendor. He was a handy man at best with the ability to fix anything. Bee Bee loved anything and everything New York.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a son, Bernard McLaughlin; two devoted sisters, Kim Edmonds and Lillie Lewis; aunt, Dorothy Leech, all of Petersburg, VA, Vanessa Walker "Bootsie" (Howard) of Dinwiddie, VA; nephew, Marsielle Bey ex. rel. Corey Lewis. Several devoted cousins to name a few, Dawnell Fletcher (Thomas), Clothilda Hill (Jeff), Raaedah Ali "J;" devoted friend, Gloria Gaye of Manhattan, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bee Bee will truly be missed by us all.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2018, at St. Ingelesia Episcopal Church, 123 135th St., Manhattan, NY 10026. Services arranged through Trumbo's Funeral Chapel Inc., 100 St. Nicholas Ave., New York, NY 10026.
