Bettie "Ann" Wade, 80, of Matoaca, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013. She was born Nov. 17, 1932, in Petersburg, to the late Julius Manfield Jackson and Annie Ruth Mumford Jackson. Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Wade Sr. She was a member of Matoaca Baptist Church.

Survivors include: two sons, Robert Edward Wade Jr., and wife, Deborah of Warrenton, N.C., and David Leonard Wade and wife, Cindy of Matoaca; grandson, Jesse David Wade; granddaughter, Ashley Michelle Cundiff and husband, Chris; great-grandson, Benjamin Wayland Cundiff; future great-granddaughter, Natalie Annelise Cundiff; three stepgrandsons, Wayne, Chris, Brandon; adopted son, Ray Russell; adopted daughter, Shirley Ann Poole; brother, Raymond "Sonny" Jackson, David "Catbird" Jackson, Robert "Hardrock" Jackson; sisters, Doris M. Thompson, and Sue M. Greene; special nieces, Linda Bell, Debra Welch; and a special friend, Marie Barger.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Rev. Donald Joyner, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Chester. The family will receive friends Monday, July 1, 2013, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
