Billie Veazey Obituary

Billie N. Veazey, 81, of Summerfield, Fla., passed away on Nov. 22, 2009, under the loving care of family and Marion County Hospice.

Billie retired from the Department of Defense at Fort Monroe after 31 years of service.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Franklin and wife Alice of Yorktown, Va.; daughter, Deborah Wolter and husband Larry of Summerfield, Fla.; four grandchildren, Todd and Mark Franklin, Kristy Wolter and Lindsay Wolter Thomas; two stepchildren, Phillip Veazey of Pensacola, Fla., and Janet Sandford and husband Eddie of Chester, Va.; and step-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Bryan Sandford.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home Chapel Hampton, Va.

In Lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to your favorite charity.

I am so sorry to hear about Billie's passing. I worked with Billie back in the 80's at HQ TRADOC DCSENGR. She was a great teacher and colleague. Billie wasn't just the Army Family Housing money lady. She managed the whole program. You had to go through Billie to get anything. I will always have fond memories of my time working with her. She was one great lady.
