Mrs. Bonnie Dean Massenburg, 51, of 324 St. Andrews St., Petersburg, departed this life Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg.

A Virginia native, Bonnie was born on Jan. 17, 1962, to Louise West.

She attended Richmond public schools and was a graduate of John Marshall High School. She later attended Richmond School of Health and Technology in Richmond and became a LPN in 2007. Bonnie was employed with the Manor Care Imperial in Richmond.

Bonnie was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, South Chesterfield.

She was preceded in death by: her grandparents, Chester and Edmonia Booth; an uncle, Henry Booth; and two aunts, Louvenia and Darlene Booth.

She is survived by: her husband, Troy D. Massenburg of Petersburg; sons, David and Dwayne Dean of Petersburg; daughters, Tawanda Harvey and Bonita Dean, both of Petersburg; mother, Louise West of Richmond; mother-in-law, Nellie Massenburg of Richmond; grandchildren, Dashaun, Shakiema, Keasia and David Dean Jr., Talayah Davis and Jayden Harvey; brother, Keith West of Richmond; sisters, Carshelia Dean and Pamela Robinson of Richmond; uncle, Willie Booth of Richmond; aunts, Brenda Swann (Bernard) of Chester, Edmonia Booth, Shirley Talley of Richmond and Rebecca Donikens of Gainesville, Ga.; numerous cousins; other relatives; and friends, among them devoted, Takenia Davis, Tiffany Wooden, and Melinda Williams.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at the chapel of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg. the Rev. Marcus Leggett, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, South Chesterfield, will officiate. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
