19 years after your passing you are still in my daily thoughts and prayers. Prayers of gratitude that we had the blessing of your being our spiritual pastor during our formative years, for supporting and loving our parents and community. You set the bar in terms of what a good shepherd should be and I know your resting with the Lord you loved and served is peaceful and joyous and how comforting to all of us knowing that as those we dearly loved were and are greeted by your loving spirit as they move on. God bless you Boston Lackey. You were and are loved and sorely missed. Katherine Smith

Boston will truly be remembered as such a good soul and good man! Both he and Jane played an important role in our lives growing up and was a true source of comfort when our parents died. He married Andy and I in Christ and Grace and baptised both of our sons there as well. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time.

Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you all. As Rick said in his note, your parents were such a comfort to us when we needed it most. Boston was an incredible spirit and a permanent fixture in my childhood memories. In all of the craziness then, he was the one steady light. We loved him and we'll miss him.

Jano,

Your parents meant so much to us at so many points in our lives from growing up in the church, through our parent's deaths, to officiating at our marriages. If I've ever known an embodiment of Christianity, it was your parents. Please know you and they are in our prayers.

Boston enriched our Sweeney & McDonald lives; Boston officiated our marriage ceremony, baptized both our children, appeared like an angel the last 20 minutes of my cherished mother's life for prayers, helped give the funeral service for my grandpa George Cooper, and for my father Frank Sweeney, and my mother Gloria Sweeney. Boston's life made our lives better. What a loss for all of us who love him.

Boston was such a positive presence in the community, that we are all lessened by his passing. I offer my most sincere condolences to his family and friends.

There are so many memories that I could add about Boston. He and Jean were great friends of my parent;we spent many vacations together; he married me twice;christened my children and buried one. My love goes out to his family.

Boston performed the wedding ceremony for my wife, Pattie Jones, and I in 1984. He provided some great pre-marriage counseling for us, as is evidenced by the fact that after 26 years we still celebrate what he created. He was such a warm and gentle person that always left love in the wake of his travels. I am glad I had the chance to have him in my life.

The Rev. Boston M. Lackey, Jr. was the closest to God I've ever felt. I can't imagine this world without him although we should be joyous that he is now with the Lord he so loved and served well. Heaven's gain is definately our loss and thoughts and prayers for his family, the Christ and Grace community and the folks of Petersburg . His beautiful booming voice will always resonate in my heart and memories. God Bless.
