Mr. Carrol Vincent Harper Jr., known as "Junny Man," of 6835 Boydton Plank Road, Petersburg, was born on May 31, 1976, and departed this life on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at the Southside Regional Medical Center. He graduated from the Dinwiddie County High School in 1995, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

"Junny Man" loved fishing, wrestling, drag racing, and telling jokes. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Vennis Harper of Petersburg; brother, Corey Coleman of Hopewell; sister, Nicky Harper of Petersburg; grandmother, Gracie Harper of Carson; nieces, Sonya and Dashell; nephews, Michael Jr., Christian, Isaiah, Montavis, Montrelle, and DaShawn; aunts, Shirley McCadden (Alexander) (devoted) of Dinwiddie, Corine Perry of Dinwiddie, Doretha Zimmerman of Richmond, Laura Harper (Roger) of Carson, Gloria Jean Harper (devoted); uncles, Robert Walker, Milton Coleman, both of Dinwiddie, Calvin Harper (Charlene) of Richmond, Milton Harper (Alease), Frankie Johnson (Shirley), all of Carson, Herbert Johnson ( Gloria Jean); great-aunts, Annie Harper (Charles), Mary Johnson, Ann Hurst (Elroy), Addie Mae Simmons, Effie Ballard (Willie), Mildred Myrick (Dozier), Flossie Lewis, Angie Walker, Susie France Walker, Carolyn Walker, Lillian Harper, and Charlene Harper; a host of other relatives; and friends, amongst them devoted, Milton Harper, Tony Clanton "Tony C", Lucille Noggin, Laura and Roger Gholson, Brian McCadden, Herbert Woodley, Williama Lewis, France Walker, Nancy Rives, and Frances Robinson.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at the Gravel Run Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, with the pastor, the Rev. Dr. Larry D. Brown Sr. officiating. Burial will commence at the Jones Family Cemetery, Dinwiddie.

Public viewing will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at the Petersburg Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home.
