Mr. Charles P. Johnson, 84, of Dewitt, Va., departed this life on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at home.

Charles was a worshipper of Jehovah God for many years. He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Metropolitan Congregation in Petersburg, Va.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alice M. Johnson; two daughters, Patricia J. Pope and her husband, Lawrence A. Pope, and Tracy J. Bellaire-Boykin, a son, Ronald G. Johnson all of Dewitt, Va.; four grandsons, Lorence A. Pope (Kelly), Julien C. Pope, Patrick J. Bellaire Jr. (Candyce), and Pierce J. Bellaire; two granddaughters, Taryn J. Bellaire and Patrice J. Pope; three great-grandchildren, Solomon D. Suitt II, Evan R. Pope and Vivien C. A. Pope; and his foster son, George William Hill.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Alice Turner of Columbia, S.C. and Justina Clark; a brother, Thomas Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa.; and their respective spouses, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
A funeral service for Mr. Charles P. Johnson will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 575 Old Wagner Road, Petersburg, Va.
