Charlie Hughes Obituary

Charlie Frank Hughes, 63, of Disputanta, passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2010 at his home.

Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Frank Hughes Jr., and a son, Michael Allen Hughes. Charlie was a retired supervisor with Firestone and Allied Signal, with 37 years of service; and an avid hunter, being the founder and first president of the Prince George Hunt Club.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan Watko and her husband, Marc; his mother, Marian Hughes; a brother, Glenn Hughes; a sister, Cindy Taylor and her husband, David; four nieces, Terri Hios and her husband, James, Amy West and her husband, R.J., Nikki and Brandi Taylor.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave., Hopewell, and where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, with the Rev. David Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery. Condolences may be registered at www.nelsencares.com.
