Mrs. Christine Agnes Holloway-Boyd, known to the family as "Lady-Bug," 76, departed her life Friday, April 11, 2014, at Vibra Hospital in Richmond, Va. The daughter of the late Mr. James Holloway and Mrs. Lelia Blowe was born July 10, 1937, in Wake County, N.C.

Mrs. Christine A. Holloway-Boyd was employed at Brown & Williamson Tobacco and Hercules, where she was employed for eight years. Majority of her life was spent on Raleigh Street in Hopewell, where she enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends having a good 'ole' time. Christine's favorite past time was fishing on the pier or boat and being near the water which provided a peace of mind.

She was preceded in death by stepfather, Mr. James Blowe; two sons, Mr. Gregory Holloway and Mr. Lorenzo Boyd; and sister-law, Mrs. Deloris Holloway.

Left to cherish the good times and memories are three brothers, Harold Holloway (Nanny), Bobby Holloway and Julius Holloway (Roselin); seven children, Deborah Willis (Frank), Sherman Holloway, (Shunikka Brooks), Felicia White, Janice Boyd, Charlette Boyd-Newsome (Patrick Jones), Titus Williams and Marlo Wilson (Ronald); 23 grandchildren, Kadesha Holloway, Ischar Holloway, Shabu Mahan, Henry Penneman, Patricia Willis, DeVere Willis, DeBorrah Willis, Michael Davis, Rosiland Munday, Ashanti White, Andrea White, De'juan Boyd, Contima Allen (Mario Allen), Marlo Boyd, Demitri Jackson, Kenya Lawrence, Dominique Schoening (Richard Schoening), Laura Newsome, Darrell Newsome Jr. (Bre' Newsome), Rominel Gholson, Conchetta Williams, Rodenna Gholson III and Rapheal Gholson; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; host of cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give thanks to the devoted friends of the family, Ms. Gail Young, Mr. Rex Huff, Mrs. Maggie Washington, Mrs. Dorothy Thorne and Mrs. Nancy Dilworth.

A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Turner- Bland Funeral Home, 1500 Arlington Road, Hopewell; Bishop Richard H. Cross officiating.

Family and friends are asked to assemble 1 p.m. at the funeral establishment on day of service. The repass will be held at the VFW, 206 Winston Churchill Drive, Hopewell, immediately following the memorial service. The family will receive friends at 2908 Courthouse Road, Hopewell.
