Mr. Clyde Vaughan, of 27330 Oakdale Road, Waverly, Va., departed his life on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va.

Mr. Vaughan was born on Oct. 12, 1932, in Waverly, Va. He was the son of the late Lucy Vaughan and Hamlin Vaughan Sr.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Wilborne Baptist Church, where he served as a faithful member of the Usher Board. Clyde was employed at Masonite Inc. until he retired.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Hamlin Vaughan Jr., and his granddaughter, Tunisia Dobie.
He leaves to cherish his memories three devoted daughters, Joyce Dobie, Midlothian, Va., Elaine Johns, Spring Grove, Va., Christine Anderson, Prince George, Va.; three sisters, Vivian Vaughan, Richmond, Va., Lucille Lyons, Petersburg, Va., and Maybelle Wallace, a devoted sister and caretaker; one brother, Samuel Vaughan, Waverly, Va.; sister-in-law, Margaret Vaughan; four grandchildren, Sherry, Quavon, Rodney and Tonya; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives, friends and Wilborne Baptist Church family.
Family and friends will assemble at 10:15 a.m. at Peace-Bland Funeral Home on the day of service for processional to Wilborne Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mr. Vaughan will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Wilborne Baptist Church, Waverly, Va.; the Rev. Clarence Thweatt, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Wilborne Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Vaughan will be 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Peace-Bland Funeral Home, 237 Railroad Ave., Waverly, Va., and one hour prior to service at Wilborne Baptist Church.
