Ms. Delois B. Dent, 83, of Chester, entered into eternal life on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Johnston-Willis Hospital with her family by her side. Delois was born on Nov. 22, 1929, to the late Charlie and Edith Laskey in Chester.

She was predeceased in death by: her husband James Dent; four brothers; three sisters; and her devoted friend, Abner Bruce.
She accepted Christ at an early age and for years served as a dedicated and faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Chester. She was a kind hearted person and passionate gardener that loved working in her yard and tending to flowers. Her warm and reassuring smile was known to bring comfort and for this she will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her precious memories are: her loving son, James R. Dent and loving daughter-in-law and caretaker, Lorraine Dent; three grandchildren, Janet Walker (Mark), James B. Dent (Erica) and Ronald Dent (Lajoyce); 12 great-grandchildren, Ericca Dent, Symone Walker, Dasha and Jaylin Dent, Whitney, Jasmine and Imani Lewis, Amani and Isaiah Edwards, Sherree and Cortez Devontenno and Tequone Diggs; one sister, Alma Morrison; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Donaldson, Lois Tyler and Hazel Sanders; devoted cousin, Mozelle Brooker; host of other relatives; and friends.
Home going service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church located at 13721 N. Enon Church Road, Chester, the Rev. Marcus Leggett, pastor, officiating. The interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park. The family will assemble one hour prior to service at the residence and may be contacted at 717-645-6787.
