Dorothy Coleman Obituary

Dorothy Adams Coleman, age 95, of DeWitt, Va., passed away Oct. 5, 2010.

She was the widow of Hillery Epps Coleman, and the daughter of the late James Waverly Adams and Gracie Martin Adams. Dorothy was predeceased by her son, Donald Epps Coleman; brother, James Andrew Adams; sisters, Rosa Reames, Louise Rogers, Gracie Fore and Pearl Martin.

She is survived by her daughter, Annis Coleman Davis and husband, Gay, of Chesterfield; grandsons Troy Coleman, wife Betty, of Chesterfield, and Monty Davis, wife Stephanie, of Richmond; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Hannah Coleman of Chesterfield; sisters, Myrtle Taft, husband Bill, of Columbia, Mo., Rebecca Price of Mechanicsville, Helen Nolte, husband Frank, of Bon Air, Lois Julian of Richmond; four brothers, James Waverly Adams of Richmond, George Adams, wife Flossie, Horace Adams, wife Pat, all of Mannboro, Howard Adams of Bon Air, wife Janis.

Dorothy was a life-long member of Mansons United Methodist Church and was an employee of Rochester Button Factory in McKenney. Dorothy leaves behind many loving memories of nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. A thank-you to the Byrd House family for their loving care.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Road, (Business Highway 460), near Blackstone. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at Mansons United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Mansons Building Fund, care of Mildred Spiers, 19516 Depot Road, McKenney, VA 23872. Registry and condolences online at www.mcmillianfuneralhome.com.

So terribly sorry to hear about the loss of your mother , Annis. May all the memories of this beautiful woman remain in your heart forever. May God give you and Gay and Monty and
