Dorothy Louise Coleman, 84, of 1765 West Princeton Road, Petersburg, Va., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Trinity Mission Health Rehab of Farmville, Va. She was a native of Ford, Va.

After graduating from Dinwiddie Training School (now Dinwiddie High School), and Harris Cosmetology School, she moved to Philadelphia, Pa., where she resided for over 60 years and worked as a beautician until her health declined; then she moved to the Petersburg area.
Dorothy was baptized at an early age at Mt. Poole Baptist Church, Ford Va. She was the eldest of five children. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Russell A. Sr. and Mary Coleman; as well as her sister, Virginia C. Winbush.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: a son, Ronald Winbush of Tennessee; two sisters, Dora Winbush (devoted), of Petersburg, Va., and Gloria McCrae, of Dinwiddie, Va.; one brother, Russell A. Coleman Jr. (LaVera), of Petersburg, Va.; an aunt, Bertha Bland, of Ettrick, Va,; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Petersburg, with the Rev. John C. Winbush, officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Poole Baptist Church, Ford. Viewing will be held at the funeral home.
