Mrs. Dorothy Mae Goodwyn, 85, of 4624 Watchspring Drive, North Chesterfield, entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 9, 2013, peacefully at her residence.

A native of Dinwiddie, she was married to the late Lee Goodwyn and preceded in death by: sons, Ellis and Eddie Goodwyn; and a daughter, Vivian Buford.
Mrs. Goodwyn attended Dinwiddie County public schools and retired from Hiriam-Davis Hospital of Petersburg. She was a member of Faith Landmark Ministry, Richmond.
She leaves to cherish precious memories of her: four daughters, Dorothy Edler and (Bernard), Katie Tilton, both of North Chesterfield, Minnie Taylor (Melvin) of Dewitt, and Wanda Thompson of Henrico; four sons, James, Collis, and Phillip Goodwyn, all of Petersburg, and John Goodwyn of Hampton, Ga.; 23 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren; devoted friend, Mary Tilton; devoted caregivers, Coca and Ericka; and a host of other relatives; and friends.

A funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy M. Goodwyn will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg. The interment will follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2013, at the funeral establishment.
