Mr. Earl Taylor, Jr. "Peter," 82, of 4821 Darvills Road, Blackstone, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Heritage Hall, Blackstone. He was a native of Dinwiddie County and the son of the Earl Taylor Sr. and Cora Lee Gilliam Jackson. At an early age, he confessed Chist and joined the Shiloh Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member until his decline in health. Peter was predeceased by: a sister, Rosa Hawkes; and two brothers, John and Charlie Taylor.

He leaves to cherish memories of him: a devoted sister/mother whom he lived with, Martha Jackson Bridgeforth; three sisters; Emma Pearce, Mary Groves and Gloserine Bradsher of Maryland; a stepsister; Arlean Mikeal; and stepbrother, Arthur Jackson of Blackstone; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Shiloh Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, 4610 Darvills Road, Blackckstone, with the pastor the Rev. David L. Banks Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the residence of his sister, Martha Bridgeforth, 4821 Darvills Road, Blackstone. The body may be viewed on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and at the church one hour prior to the service.
