Mr. Edward Harrison, affectionately known as "Ed," 81, of 14803 Courthouse Road, Dinwiddie, Va., passed away quietly at his residence Saturday evening, Nov. 17, 2012.

He was born June 4, 1931, in Prince George County, Va., to the late Etta Hill and Earnest Harrison, and stepmother, Josie Harrison. He was a member of the Mount Level Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, where he served as a former usher. He was a retired shipping clerk for Richards Wine Cellers with 33 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife and caregiver, Bettie Washington Harrison of Dinwiddie; two daughters, Sheila Harrison Bentley (Michael) of Mechanicsville and Edwinda R. Harrison of Henrico; two sons, Donald Harrison of Chesterfield and Edward R. Harrison of Fredericksburg; a granddaughter, Mariah Harrison of Richmond; five grandsons, Brion Harrison and Mitchell Harrison, both of Fredericksburg, Michael Bentley Jr. (Shereen) of Baltimore, Christian Bentley of Frederick, Md., and Julian Bentley of Mechanicsville ; a great-granddaughter, Alexis Bentley; one brother, Rosevelt Harrison of Petersburg; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A service of remembrance will be held at noon on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at the Mount Level Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, with the pastor, the Rev. Bernard Coleman, officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at the funeral home. The family will assemble at 11:15 on the morning of the service at the residence for the procession.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Ms. Karen Wyche, and the staff of the Crater Community Hospice Inc. for the wonderful care they have given to our beloved husband and father.
