Mrs. Ella M. Prioleau, 78, departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at Colonial Heights Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Colonial Heights.

She attended Petersburg City Public School System, where she graduated from Peabody High School. Upon graduation, she completed courses in cosmetology school as a licensed beautician for 40 years.
During her early childhood years, she was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Ella met Sgt. Maj. John E. Prioleau and after military travels they settled in Augusta, Ga. There she was a faithful member of the Broadway Baptist Church where the pastor is the dynamic Dr. C. Williams Joyner Jr.
Ella loved bowling and has an abundance of trophies to show for her love for the game.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John E. Prioleau.
Ella is survived by: her loving brothers, Charles Moore (Lorie) of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Walter Moore (Laura) of Chesterfield; a sister, Catherine Fletcher (Sylvester) of Newton, N.J.; one sister-in-law, Eloise Anderton; brother-in-law, Emanuel Prioleau (Joann); four aunts, Beulah Thomas, Lillie M. Robertson, Mary Dickerson, and Charlotte Davis; one uncle, Harvey Moore; and a host of nieces; nephew; cousins; and friends.
Services for Mrs. Ella M. Prioleau will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, the Dr. C.W. Joyner Jr., pastor, eulogist.
