On Saturday, July 13, 2013, God in His Infinite wisdom saw fit to bring our loved one, Mr. Ernest Cobb, home to be with Him. We all loved Ernest but God loved him more. He passed away quietly with family by his side at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va.

Ernest was born Jan. 24, 1951, to the late Fannie Mae Carson and Dempsey Cobb in North Carolina. He was a native of Petersburg and grew up in the Blandford community. He was affectionately known by some as "TCB".

He was preceded in death by his mother, Fannie Carson; grandmother, Lenora Smith; aunt, Sadie Mae Speight; daughter, Lenora LaLa Thomas; sister, Annie Joyce Cobb; great-grandchild, Janya Clanton; two nephews, Antoine Keene and Paul Roger Seward.

He leaves to cherish loving memory: two daughters, Lovetta Brown (Mark) of Petersburg, Va., and Lorraine Johnson (Brian) of New York; two devoted sisters, Ruby Keene and Earline Cobb, both of Petersburg, Va.; three brothers, Royal Cobb, Curtis Cobb and Clifton Cobb (Louise), all of Petersburg, Va.; nine grandchildren, one devoted, Michael Niacaris Sr., Emerson, Tyrika and Sylvia Cobb, Kennora and Ladoris Thomas, Mark, Marquelle, Mar'kus Brown; two great-grandchildren, Michael Niacaris Jr., and Aaliayh Cobb; a host of nieces and nephews, one devoted, Talite Hooper (Keith); and her children, Teekay, Beano, Cori and Kajay, whom he resided with long before his illness; devoted friends, Lilchester, Dale, Deanna, Andre and Tonya Niacaris, along with the Blandford community, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2013, from the chapel of William N. Bland & Son, 137 Harrison St., Petersburg, Va., with the Rev. Dr. Antonio A. Tucker Sr., officiating. Interment to follow in Dinwiddie Memorial Park, Petersburg, Va. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 1740 Stuart Road, Petersburg, Va.
