Floyd Jones Obituary
He was a native of Waverly, and son of Chester Johnson and the late Madeline Jones. He attended Zion Hill Holiness Church, Waverly, and was employed in Newport News as a material handler. He was a 1993 graduate of Sussex Central High School
Besides his father he is survived by a daughter, Shakeyera L. Taylor of Waverly; two sisters, Christine Jones of Richmond and Andrea King of Waverly; one brother, Kevin Jones, Waverly; two aunts, Doretha Giles (Willie) of Suffolk and Frances Blackwell of Waverly; six uncles, Ernest Coleman (Doretha), Thermon, Walter, Conray and Johnny Jones, and Leroy Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, among them a devoted nephew raised as his son, Messiah Hakeem Jones, and devoted friends, Tim and William Elder.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16., from the Zion Hill Holliness Church, Waverly. Elder Willie Williams, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Peace-Bland Funeral Home, Waverly, from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. Attending relatives and friends may assemble for the funeral at 321 Franklin St., Waverly, at 1 p.m.
