Mr. Garland B. Parham, affectionately known as "G-Man"or "Buster," passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 20, 2013, in Atlanta. Garland was preceded in death by: his father, James "Fish Hawk" Parham; paternal grandparents, James and Martha Parham; brother, Larry Boddie; maternal grandparents, Ida and Robert Rice and aunts, Mary Parham McKeever and Mattie Bruce.

Garland graduated from Petersburg High School in 1973. He relocated to Atlanta 12 years ago and was employed by M.D. Walker Funeral Home for over 11 years. Garland was known as a "Jack of all trades" and had a passion to fix and build whatever he put his mind to.

Left to cherish his memory are: his daughter, Ashley Davis of Matoaca; his mother, Helen R. Parham of Petersburg.; three granddaughters, Jayasia, Jakhyia and Omariyah Davis, all of Matoaca; one sister, Teresa Noel of Petersburg; three brothers, Leon Parham of Atlanta, Anthony and James Parham III, both of Petersburg; one uncle, Linwood Rice of Petersburg; numerous nieces and nephews. Garland had many people who loved him deeply which include a devoted sister-in-law, Deborah Parham and friends, Cheryl Brooks, Sandra Wilson, Gail and David Brower, Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Jackson, the Dugger family, the Davis family, the Glenn family, the Lundy family and the Phillips family.

A funeral service for Mr. Garland Parham will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, the Rev. Eli Melvin Jr., officiating and the Rev. James Geter, eulogist.

Honorary and active pallbearers are asked to assemble at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral establishment.

The family will assemble at 12 p.m. the day of the services and receive friends at 1203 Hamilton St., Petersburg, and may be contacted by calling 804-733-6464.
