George A. Tucker

George A. Tucker of 22522 Williamson Road, Dinwiddie, died Sunday afternoon, Dec. 20, 2009, at John Randolph Medical Center, Hopewell. He was a native of Dinwiddie County and the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Tucker. He was a member of Gravel Run Baptist Church, Dinwiddie.

He is survived by four sisters, Barbara Urquhart (Henry) of Carson, Ruth Skeeter (Otis) of Petersburg, Audrey Finney (Paul) of Macon, Ga., and Shelia Hendricks (Wendell) of Dinwiddie; two brothers, Thomas E. Tucker (Sarah) and Calvin J. Tucker, all of Dinwiddie; one uncle, Ernett Tucker of Dinwiddie; one brother-in-law, Samuel Hardy of Dinwiddie; one sister-in-law, Joann Tucker of Syracuse, N.Y.; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Gravel Run Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, with Dr. Larry Brown officiating. Interment will be in Dinwiddie Memorial Park. The remains will rest at the church on Wednesday 11:45 a.m. until the hour of service. Relatives and friends will assemble at the residence of the sister and brother-in-law, Shelia and Wendell Hendricks, 20821 Carson Road, Dinwiddie, at 12 noon.
