Gladys L. Butler, 93, of Colonial Heights, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013.

She was born Aug. 29, 1919. to the late Ernest Lynch and Annie Callis Williams. Mrs. Butler was the widow of Louis Franklin Butler Sr., and was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Franklin and Charlotte Clary. Mrs. Butler was member of West End Baptist Church for over 60 years.
She is survived by two sons, Louis F. "Frank" Butler Jr., and Gloria Wright, Michael W. Butler and wife, Wanda; loving daughter-in-law, Becky Davis Butler; six grandchildren, Kimberly Butler and husband, Jim, Franklin Butler and wife ,Angela, Brandon Butler and wife, Audra, Michael Butler Jr., Jason Butler, Jeffrey Butler; great-grandchildren, Allie Butler, Pierce Butler, Colin Butler, Stephen Mick, William Mick; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Rev. Michelle E. Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Va. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at the funeral home.
