Glenn H. "Jay Bird" Bendall Jr., 60, of Prince George County, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at his residence. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Glenn H. Bendall Sr.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and a retired employee of DuPont. Glenn was a member of Monumental Baptist Church, Petersburg. He was an honorary lifetime member of the Dinwiddie Coon Hunters Association and a member of the Sussex-Newville Hunt Club, the Southampton Coon Hunters Association and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
He is survived by a daughter, Margaret Cooke of Chester; three grandchildren, Justin Cooke, Cade and Conor Adenauer; a brother, Thomas W. Bendall and wife Rose; a sister, Sue B. Winfield and husband Barney; and his mother, Margaret H. Bendall, all of Prince George; numerous nieces and nephews; and a devoted companion, Cindy Blaha of Dinwiddie.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at the Disputanta Ruritan Club, U.S. Route 460, with Pastor Randy Hawkins officiating. Committal services will be private.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, at the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road.
