Mrs. Gloria Jean Jones, "Glo," of 38067 Marvin's Lane, Wakefield, Va., passed away suddenly on Jan. 11, 2013, in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Wesley King Sr. and Mrs. Josephine Brock-King.

Gloria was born and raised in Sussex County, and was educated in the Sussex County School System. She worked as a pantry chef at the Williamsburg Inn, Williamsburg, Va.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Wesley King Sr. and Mrs. Josephine Brock-King; brothers, Donald Brock and Kenny King; and a sister, Betrice White.

Glo is survived by her husband, Mr. John P. Jones of Wakefield, Va.; three sons, Kevin Brock, Keith Brock and John P. Jones Jr., all of Wakefield, Va.; four brothers, Rodney Brock (Marion) of Ivor, Va., Marvin King (Renee) of Waverly, Va., Jerome King (Melissa) of Surry, Va., and Wesley King Jr.(Pender) of New York; five sisters, Barbara Johnson (Clennis) of Smith, Va., Doris King of Maryland, Darlene King-Bain (Clinton) of Wakefield, Va., Connie King-Piggott of Williamsburg, Va., and Gloria McCain (David) of Norfolk, Va.; five grandchildren, Keshon Brock, Aniya Brock, Qualisha Taylor, Zykea Brock and Dyamond Wynne; one aunt, Laverta Claiborne of Smithfield, Va.; one uncle, Clarence Parker Sr., of Philadelphia; two sisters-in-law, June Myrick of Dinwiddie, Va., and Cynthia Jones of Wakefield, Va.; three brothers-in-law, William Jones Sr., Wayne Jones and Willie Jones Sr., all of Wakefield, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, two devoted, Gwendolyn Reid of Newport News, Va., and Nettie Robinson of Yorktown, Va.

Home going service for Mrs. Gloria Jean Jones, "Glo," will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, from the Oak Grove Baptist Church, 38070 Rocky Hock Road, Wakefield, Va., with the Rev. Leslie Holloway, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Booker T. Memorial Park, Surry, Va. Remains will lie in repose at the church beginning at 11:45 a.m. on the day of the service. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 25824 Greensville Ave., Petersburg, VA 23803.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the residence, 38067 Marvin's Lane, Wakefield, Va., and is asking that relatives and friends assemble at the residence on the day of the service at noon.
