Mr. Harry L. Daniel Sr., of Petersburg, Va., died unexpectedly at Southside Regional Medical Center on Saturday, March 15, 2014. He was born in Richmond, Va., on Feb. 22, 1940.

He is survived by his dedicated daughter, Lucille "Peaches" McNair and her husband, Michael, of Richmond, Va. He is also survived by his sons, Harry L. Daniel Jr. (Lolita) of Richmond, Va., and Harold L. Daniel (Shannon) of Pittsburgh; a sister, Jan Beverly; an aunt, Catherine Branch of Richmond, Va.; stepchildren, Debbie Waller (Ray), Kathy Blassagame, Marvin Sullivan and John Devore (Sue); his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Todd McNair (Gabriella), Kiaunté McNair (Corey), Kiaunda Jones (Steven), Tosha, Lakita, Tiffany, Lil Harry and Leta Daniel; as well as a host of other family and devoted friends, to include Ms. Elizabeth Clarke and his former wife, Alberta Daniel.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Daniel; mother, Cora Daniel Beverly and her husband, Willie; sister, Shirley Daniel; and brother, Melvin Daniel.
Harry retired from ABC Foundry where he worked for 30 years. He spent his retirement doing what he loved the most, fishing, bowling and spending time gardening.
Services for Mr. Harry L. Daniel Sr. will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va.; Brother Harold L. Daniel (son of Mr. Daniel), officiating. Interment to follow at Bermuda Memorial Park.
Viewing for Mr. Daniel will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at the funeral establishment.
