Helen Wiggins Obituary

Mrs. Helen Wiggins (Monk), of 1307 S. 1st St., Hopewell, departed this life Oct. 1, 2010, at her residence.

She was a native of Prince George County, and the daughter of the late Edna Tyler. She was preceded by her husband, Earl Wiggins. She confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age at Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Prince George. Upon moving to Hopewell, she became a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, where she served as an usher before her health declined. Mrs. Wiggins worked many years at Quick Lunch in downtown Hopewell.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins, other relatives and friends, among them devoted nieces, Evelyn Hayes and Rosetta King.

A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Prince George. The pastor, the Rev. William Robert will officiate. The interment will follow in Mt. Sinai Community Cemetery, Prince George. Relatives and friends may assemble at the residence at noon.

Arrangements entrusted to the staff of Turner-Bland Funeral Home, Hopewell, the Rev. William N. Bland Jr., funeral director.
