Herbert Wiggins Obituary
He was born Nov. 8, 1955, in Petersburg to Mrs. Rebecca Wiggins and the late Albert Lee Wiggins Sr. He was a product of the Petersburg School System, the Chesterfield and Richard Bland Police Academy. He also graduated from the Federal Law Enforcement Department and Crater Criminal Justice Academy. Brother Wiggins was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and had been employed by the Virginia State University Police Department, Federal Corrections Institute, the Petersburg Sheriff Department, Hill Phoenix and the Crater Detention Center. He was presently employed with the Central State Hospital Forensic Unit and was the owner of L & V Moving Co. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Lee Wiggins Sr.; a brother, Albert Lee Wiggins Jr.; paternal grandparents, Alexander and Lenora Wiggins; maternal grandparents, John and Margaret Hill; and a father-in-law, Arthur Robinson Sr.
Surviving are: a devoted wife, Mrs. Valarie R. Wiggins of Petersburg; mother, Mrs. Rebecca Wiggins; four daughters, Ebony Wiggins of Henrico, Ayanna Wiggins (Cornelius) of Chesterfield, Latrese Brown of Petersburg and Shae Jones of Hopewell; grandchildren, Braezhaun (Brae Brae) and Cornelius (Fat Daddy) Cooke, DaCori (Cori Cori) and Jaydin Graves, Latrell (Lil Man) and Tahki Harper; three brothers, Spencer Wiggins (Terri) of Woodbridge, Charles Wiggins of Manassas and John Wiggins (Joyce) of Dinwiddie; three sisters, Joan Brown (Ralph) of Twentynine Palms, Calif., Annette Bonner, Hope Mills, N.C., and Daphne Gooden (Cecil) of Chesterfield; mother and father-in-law, Fredward and Ester Sorrells; brothers-in-law, Stanley Robinson (Brenda) and Arthur Robinson Jr. (LaSandra); sisters-in-law, Linda Moseley (Wilbur), Toronia Brown (Ronnie) and Greta Butcher; two uncles; six aunts; one great-aunt; several nieces, nephews, cousins, among the nieces a devoted niece, Jovonda Wiggins-Starks; several devoted friends, David Jarratt, Morris Edenburgh and Maurice Heath.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday from the Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Petersburg; the Rev. Wesley K. McLaughlin, pastor, officiating. nterment will be in Blandford Cemetery. The family may be contacted at the residence, phone 863-4344 or 458-0915.

To Valerie Wiggins and family. I offer my condolences to you regarding the passing of your loved one. Herbert was not only my classmate, we grew up together. I considered him a friend. I'm sure he enjoyed knowing me cause he did a lot of joking on me in school.
My only hope is that he was acquainted with and accepted our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Surely, God has given us His blessed assurance that those that believe and trust in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
Thank God for Herbert passing this way. May the memories that he gave you live on in your hearts and minds. For we know that one day our outward man will perish, therefore, we must truly love from and with our hearts.
Be blessed and know that God is still good and His mercy endureth forever. He will carrry you through.
