Idell Gornto, 88, of Prince George, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 31, 2013. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Minnie Susan and Alonzo Jackson; husband, Harold Gornto; along with 11 brothers and sisters.

Idell had made Prince George her home for the last 28 years, was a 1943 graduate of Hopewell High School, and attended Colonial Heights Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir and working with senior adults.
She was a former employee of McGuire Veterans Hospital where she was a medical secretary retiring after 32 years of dedicated service in 1980.
She is survived by: a brother, Alonzo Jackson and wife Marie of Prince George; numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Memorial Funeral Home Guild Chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m., and funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013.
