And God called another angel home. Jack Johnson "Happy Jack" Raines, 63, of Petersburg, Va., was called to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at St. Francis Medical Center, Midlothian, Va. He was born March 30, 1950, to the late Wilson and Elizabeth Jones Raines in Prince George, Va.

On Aug. 3, 1973, he married Jannie Crawford in Prince George, Va. Jack enjoyed fishing, carpentry and spending time with family. Jack worked as a truck driver for 40 years until he was forced to stop due to illness.
Jack is preceded in death by a brother, Frank Raines, and a sister, Georgia May Raines.
Jack is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jannie Raines; son, Christopher Raines (Amanda) of Powhatan, Va.; daughter, Sandra Raines; six grandchildren, Khalil, Treassure, Samantha, Christopher Jr., Karla and Keziah; sisters, Darlene Brown, Cheryl Rose and Evelyn Taylor; brothers, James Jones (Louvenia), Willie Jones (Linda) and Learne Raines (Meg), Johnny Taylor (Gloria), Earnest Taylor (Olivia) and Andrew Taylor; sister-in-law, Patricia Raines; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services for Mr. Jack Raines will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va. Interment to follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
