Obituary Condolences

Mr. James Edward (Bubba Dick) Taylor, 74, of 8717 Trinity Church Road, entered into eternal rest and peace on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Dinwiddie Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on February 11, 1944, to the late William (Bill) Taylor and Alice Taylor of Ford, Virginia. He received his primary education in the Dinwiddie County School System. James served his country as an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for the Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator, after that career ended he worked for his beloved Virginia State University until his health declined. In his free time he loved fishing and watching his beloved Washington Redskins win or lose he was a diehard Skins fan for life.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Alice Taylor; two sisters, Francis Taylor and Otis Taylor; and devoted cousins, Beulah Bland Gholson, Herman Edward Coleman Jr. (King Fish). He is Survived by two nephews, Ret. Sergeant David L. Taylor of California and Robert E. Taylor of Petersburg; two nieces. Carolyn Taylor of Florida and Pamela Taylor of Petersburg; seven great nephews and nieces; devoted cousins, Linwood Jones Jr. (Karen) of North Dinwiddie and Vanessa Gholson of North Dinwiddie; and a host of other cousins and family members. Several devoted friends, Edward and Luther Clark of Church ROad, Howard (Junie) Bland of Ford and Samuel Richardson of Chesterfield and all of his JB Grocery family. Special thanks o the staff at Dinwiddie Health and Rehabilitation Center, Ms. Angelene Madison and the Hospice Care Center of Virginia.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018, at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Bland &Tucker Funeral Home in Petersburg, Virginia. The Rev. Joseph Fields will officiate and eulogize. Burial will follow at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, Virginia. The Family will meet at the funeral home on the day of services.
