James Bagley Obituary

James W. Bagley, age 68, a resident of Petersburg, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at his home. Born on Oct. 14, 1942, in Richmond, he was the son of the late James Spencer and Virginia Dare Crowder Bagley.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Matthews Bagley; a son, James Matthew Bagley and wife, Nicole of Palm City, Fla.; a daughter, Sydney B. Kelly and husband, Eric of Culpeper; two grandchildren, Parker and McKenna Kelly; a brother, Eugene S. Bagley of Appomattox; step-mother, Lee B. Rolston and a step-sister, Beverly O'Lini both of Hillsboro Beach, Fla., and two brothers-in-law, E. Warren Matthews and his wife Faye G. of South Hill and James W. Matthews and his wife, Bonnie G. of Powhatan.

Jim grew up in Kenbridge, Va., was a retired interior designer and a member of the Kenbridge United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, with the Rev. Carl J. Bagley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial at Kenbridge Heights Cemetery will be private. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Kenbridge UMC, c/o Bagley Horthorne, P.O. Box 202, Kenbridge, VA 23944, or to Southside Virginia Emergency Crew, P.O. Box 574, Petersburg, VA 23804. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
