Jean Sexton Youngblood, 82, of Hopewell, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Fred W. Sexton and Mary Helen Gilland Sexton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Walker P. Youngblood; daughter, Dr. Mary Helen Youngblood; and son, Fred K. Youngblood.

Jean was a founding member of James River Ball Committee and a member of Appomattox Garden Club, as well as a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Hopewell.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann Y. Williams (Jerry), Barbara Y. Phillips (Frank); sons, Peter A. Youngblood (Sara), David C. Youngblood (Ella), W. Patrick Youngblood (Pam), Daniel L. Youngblood (Heather); sister, Betty J. Rhoades (Lewis); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Ronald K. Bullis, officiating. Interment will be private.
